Hey! My name’s Jennie and I’m the Music Editor here at The Atlas Times. I figured in order to introduce you to me and give you a little idea what to expect, I’d delve into my iTunes and tell you some of my most listened to tracks.

Right up at the top is Disloyal Order of Water Buffaloes by Fall Out Boy, from the album Folie a Deux, my favourite FOB album by far. I feel it is quite an underrated one, and I’ve never really understood why, it’s a lyrical masterpiece!  After that is Days Are Gone by Haim, the title track for their debut album. I think this is just capturing my New Year’s feeling to be honest, give it a listen if you haven’t already.

Then we have Paramore’s Live Lounge cover of Matilda by Alt-J, which is what I listen to all the time when I’m working, it’s a really good background sound I think, it helps me to concentrate more that silence. Next we have Comme des Enfants by Coeur de Pirate, which is what I listen to when I’m doing my French work or before any of my exams. I really recommend this if you’re studying French like I am because listening to French vocals really helps you to get the language going in your head.

Some others up at the top are Menswear by The 1975, The Mother We Share by CHVRCHES, Swan Dive by Waxahatchee, Peace Sign (Acoustic) by Lights, Rollercoaster by Bleachers, You Are A Tourist by Death Cab For Cutie and Game Shows Touch Our Lives by the Mountain Goats.

Anyway that’s a little introduction to me, onto what you can expect from the Music section here.

I’m hoping to be able to do some Track Talks of new albums, where I discuss the tracks and what they make me feel/my understanding of them, rather than just a star-rating review. One album I’m particularly looking forward to is American Beauty/American Psycho by Fall Out Boy, which is released on the 19th of January, so you can look forward to that if you love FOB as much as I do (and if you don’t maybe you can read it and give them a chance?) I’m also hoping to be able to do some interviews, opinion pieces about anything and everything within music, discussions about the latest pop songs and more, so be sure to stick around!

I’m interested in all types of music, any genre, so if you have something you’d like me to write about/listen to, please don’t hesitate to tweet me, I’m @jennie_atherton.

Have a great week everyone!
